Rising Strong™

The Rising Strong™ process is about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. We all go through struggles – asking somebody out who does not want us, expressing our feelings and not being understood, saying something at work that did not land very well; the list is endless – failing feels painful and can trigger shame, disappointment, and a full range of emotions and thoughts.
Sometimes we avoid pursuing our heart desires because we fear failing. And sometimes when we do, we do not get back up, and we give up. But if we want to break away from the crowd and live wholehearted lives, we must be courageous and different; doing this inevitably means we will sometimes fall.
Rising Strong™ is all about learning to get back up and how to become a highly resilient individual. It is about bouncing back from failure and recovering from being and/or feeling “exposed.”

What is The Daring Way™?
The Daring Way™ (The Daring Way™) is a highly interactive workshop based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The workshop curriculum was developed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives. The primary focus is on developing resilience skills and developing a courage practice that transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings, and is suitable for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders.
Lele Mehlomakulu is the only Certified Daring Way™ Candidate (CDW-Candidate) in South Africa and the rest of Africa. Only Certified Daring Way™ Facilitators (or Candidates) are sanctioned to provide The Daring Way™ workshops. More resources and information are available at www.thedaringway.com or www.brenebrown.com.
Who can benefit from participating in The Daring Way™?
Most of us can benefit from The Daring Way™. For most adults and adolescents, we can think of areas in our lives we’d like to live more bravely. Where do you want to live more bravely and more authentically? In your relationship? As a parent? As a friend? At work?
Companies benefit from having employees who are more courageous, productive, and innovative. For example, we’ve all had the experience of contributing to a discussion in a meeting—bravely putting out a new idea, a new thought, or an opinion. Heart racing, expectantly waiting to see how our input is received—and it’s met with crickets. You know that feeling: the sinking sensation, the second-guessing moment that our input falls flat. For some of us, an experience like that would cause us to shrink away, keep quiet, or withdraw. For others, it might cause us to puff up, to try to explain, to become defensive. And still, for others of us, that experience might not cause much anxiety at all. Is there a “right” way to respond?
This is one example of the work of The Daring Way™. And just as we all respond differently to the scenario above, we all have different things in our lives that cause that feeling. How we respond to that feeling is very much individual, and our response can be constructive—or not. This is the work of The Daring Way™. And it can change your life because we all have that feeling often enough.
Why should I register for the Daring WayTM programs?
The programs provide intensive experience with this work. Employees are able to engage in the workshop without distractions, and they can focus on their work of The Daring Way™.
What can employees expect during a workshop of The Daring Way™? What is the structure/format?
The structure is very informal and employees can expect to have meaningful discussions around shame triggers, resilience, and courageous living.
At the workshop's completion, is there a takeaway I should expect? Will I have a plan or tools to move forward with my life?
Through The Daring Way™, you will walk away with tools and skills that help you cultivate more resilience, self-compassion, empathy, creativity, joy, and connection in your life. Like most everything in life, though, this is a journey, not a destination. The Daring Way™ will give you a path to travel and tools to help keep your pathway clear. It’s up to you to decide to travel it every day.
You also can think of The Daring Way™ as a way to gain greater insight into yourself, your reactivity, your behaviours, and your values.
Is there ongoing support anticipated following The Daring Way™ Workshop?
Often participants choose to stay in touch with each other following the workshops. In the past, the participants have gotten together monthly to continue to practice what they learned through The Daring Way™ and support each other.
